It was a pleasure to meet Peta, Anthony and Frankie ahead of our house sit. Straight away we were made to feel at ease - Frankie is absolutely adorable. Anthony's extensive user guide was of great value to us, leaving us with no guesswork. The house is absolutely charming, really comfortable, and during our stay, our every need was catered for, we could not have asked for more. Frankie was absolutely no trouble to care for - she kept us highly entertained and we were very sad to leave. The village of Kingston Bagpuize has a general store and post office within walking distance. Millets Farm, (a vast Garden Centre, Grocer, Restaurant and animal farm) is just 10 minutes by car. There is an amazing bus service just across the road from Fallowfields - every twenty minutes you can be travelling to Oxford town centre and beyond. Our house/Frankie sit was an absolute pleasure, and if lucky enough would have no hesitation in accepting a return invitation. We cannot recommend Anthony and Peta enough, they are The most excellent hosts and thank them so much for looking after us so well in their beautiful home.
Wendy and Charles are wonderful hosts. They were warm, welcoming and left clear guidance for the sit. Their home is beautiful and in a lovely location with many walks from the door. The star of the show was Hattie, their young dog. She is adorable and very good on walks. I highly recommend this house sit and I would certainly return.
Right in the Cotswolds, surrounded by lots of fields for exploring with Hudson, this house sit was the perfect escape from Bristol! Being mid winter it was certainly on the wet and muddy side but it didnt deter us and we still managed to explore a fair amount. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. A highlight for me was a lovely walk from Brockley to Batcombe village on our one really dry day. Hudson enjoys playing with his ball ALOT! once we started I could get him to want to stop! but it was fun to see him enjoying himself. The house is located in a small village but really close to a couple of larger towns, so I had everything I needed really close by. Sarkas home is clean, tidy and also well equipped with everything you could need. A welcome bottle of bubbly for New Years Eve was also a very thoughtful gift from Sarka! Hudson had a health concern whilst I was looking after him but Sarka had left all the important info before she went away so it was easy to get in touch with the vet for advice etc. Sarka was also easily contactable via whatsapp which was really helpful. Overall an enjoyable sit for a lovely beautiful and cuddly Hudson. Thank you both!
This was an excellent sit! All round 5 stars! I arrived after meeting Meg on FaceTime and she had departed already, but left clear and simple instruction on how to enter the house. Argus was waiting for me in the laundry room and was super friendly to me immediately. I took him for a walk in the neighborhood, and Meg had forewarned me about his strength and size. Argus is reactive (which is being worked on) so I used the collars Meg had taken care to leave instructions about, and kept him distracted behind cars with a treat when other dogs were approaching. Off leash I witnessed no issues, I took him to the beach on the daily, and he LOVED it. He really enjoys running around with a ball in his mouth, usually just running in the other direction of other dogs, and came back to me any time I asked him to (I did this several times just to practice recall and was impressed). After the beach it's nice to walk along to the lighthouse (he's exhausted and disinterested in other doggos by this point) to get him a drink of water from the doggy fountain in front of the surf museum. Back at home it's fun to hose him down and brush him, then he can dry off in the sun. It's a nice way to bond with him and I would give him a treat to chew on afterwards as a reward. Meg has a really really lovely home, clean and tidy, well laid out, with a delightful outdoor space to enjoy the sunshine. The bath tub and hot tub were such a treat, I felt so decadent! The kitchen has everything you could ever need for cooking up your fave meal and the bed and couch were extremely comfortable. Argus is not allowed on the furniture and is VERY obedient, and a great listener. He is allowed on the bed if invited, which I allowed on several occasions - he is a great bed companion, didn't wake me up or move around at all. This boy is an extremely loving dog and just wants to be with you, but will happily sleep on his own bed with the instruction OFF. Lastly, Santa Cruz is a fabulous place with an abundance of natural beauty and fun things to do and see. I didn't get to see enough so will definitely be returning to see my pal Argus again.
