Diane
Diane & Andrew are really warm and friendly people who made us feel very welcome to their beautiful home which is a 250 year old farm house which has a very well equipped kitchen with Arga, electric oven, microwave & all mod cons. The house is tastefully decorated & furnished with plenty of hot water and central heating. The house is set in over 280 acres of arable farm land (so plenty local walks). Communication with Diane was excellent and she is very well organised and so thoughtful. The front of the house has a patio with lots of great patio furniture and is quite a sun trap.
We fell in love with Lexie (their Red fox Labrador puppy 13 weeks old), who is very playful, affectionate, lively and loves cuddles and she is under full puppy training at the moment, which is already a credit to Diane’s efforts. We took Lexie to Rutland Water, which she absolutely loved meeting new people and other dogs. Leo the cat is very affectionate (when he appears) and although very independent, he loves a fuss, preferably when Lexie is not around as he finds her a bit too playful at the moment.
There is so much to see and do in this lovely area, with easy access to the A1 Major route (North & South).
Future sitters would be advised to have their own Transport, but there is so much to see and do in this area.
Empingham – 2.1 Miles Pretty village with thatched cottages & The White Horse Italian Restaurant
Rutland Water – 2.8 Miles, Zoo, Reservoir, Walks, Bird Watching Centre & Lyndon Nature Reserve & Osprey Project, Bike hire, Falconry & Owl Centre, Aqua Park.
Stamford – 4 Miles, Nearest supermarket (Morrisons). Pretty Market Town widely regarded as one of the finest stone towns in England, The pretty facades of the town are favourites with film and television producers – Stamford was used in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film and has also appeared in Middlemarch, The Da Vinci Code.
Good shopping with most of the popular stores represented, lots of interesting little shops to mooch about in with unique and fascinating goods for sale.
Burghley House & Grounds Golf Club – 7.6 Miles Grand 16th Century Elizabethan Stately Home with Sculpture Gardens. Grounds laid out by Capability Brown.
Stamford Museum & Nature Centre.
Oakham – 8.6 Miles Aldi & Co-op Supermarkets.
Rutland Polo Club, matches played in the summer with free entry (Take a Picnic). This is a very friendly Club, the season is from May to September. Tourist attractions - All Saints' Church & Oakham Castle. An open-air market held in the town's market place every Wednesday and Saturday. Nearby is the ancient Buttercross with its octagonal stone-slate roof and the wooden stocks.
This will definitely go down as one of our favourite sits and fortunately we have been invited back for a second sit and are really looking forward to it. We would recommend this sit to all future sitters.

Jessica
Chloe and Christopher were a cute pair to hang out with. Every time you stroke them they greet you with a friendly meow, yet they are quiet as mice otherwise. They adore playing with the red laser pen light and the fishing rod toy, providing great entertainment. Chloe's needing of our tummies with her paws was priceless!

Jessica was helpful throughout and the apartment was a convenient 10 minute walk from the beach. The only challenge for us was that our appreciation of minimalism was not aligned with Jessica's somewhat cluttered apartment. We would recommend updated photos which represent the apartment. Thank you, Jessica!

Fred
Fred was such a kind, unique, and welcoming person!! You could tell his cat Horatio is incredibly loved and I wanted to continue those spirits within his home! He helped with various recommendations around town as well as his house being a gem, you don’t really need to go anywhere. When he had service he was incredibly communicable and if I needed anything I was able to reach out to his friend. I would very much sit anytime for him!! Thank you!!

Christine
What a wonderful experience we had in Wass! The house was delightful with views of Byland Abbey from the kitchen. Christine and Mike are just lovely people and provided us with a lovely meal the night we arrived. Our room was gorgeous with its own ensuite. Poppy was truly wonderful, she could not have been any easier to look after. The local community were warm and welcoming and we loved the chance to enjoy the local walks and villages that make this part of Yorkshire so special. This has been the highlight of our time away and we hope to return again soon

Randi
I don’t have enough words to express how nice the stay was.
Brock and Olive are the most well behaved dogs, they listen well to commands, have a routine that they follow and they are open to getting lots of love and kisses. Brock is a big softie and it took Olive a little bit to open up, but once she did we saw her playful and caring side.
The house is super beautiful, we enjoyed being on the lake and how organized everything was. We also played pickleball with neighbors and it was super fun.
Randi and Scott are very down to earth and hospitable. Randi had put together the best welcome guide that had all the information we needed.
We had plans to leave the house, but honestly, the space gave us so much time to do our work and be creative, that we stayed in most of the time and being with the dogs was rewarding, especially hearing Olive’s little snores.
We would love to come back and sit for Randi and Scott.
