Hesitate not! You will love it. Some time before the sit, I met Tim over a Zoom call which was followed up by me paying a visit to meet Louie and Gary and Margaret, who showed me around and went through everything I’d need to know. Before she and Tom went on holiday and knowing I wasn’t well, Margaret went out of her way to make sure I had everything I might need until I got better, and she stocked up the fridge and cycled across town to give me the keys, as they were going to be leaving before I arrived. I one-hundred percent recommend sitting for Gary and Louie. They are two of the most caring, lovable cats. While I wasn’t well, there was always one or both of these two heavenly creatures snuggling up and making sure I was OK. Once well, I was able to spend time relaxing with them in the back garden and fully appreciate the comfort of all of Margaret and Tim’s beautiful home and not just the cosy, sunny room at the top of the house. It is also perfectly located near town, on the bus route, near the Duke of York’s Cinema, but in a quiet neighbour hood with a very kind and gentle next door neighbour, who kindly did some shopping for me. Thank you, Margaret and Tim and Gary and Louie for making this a special sit.
If you are an animal lover, Janette's farm is more than a housesitting, is a life experience. We really loved to stay there and take care of the entire crew. All the animals there have a very happy life and show a lot of affection for humans. It was really a pleasure the routine with all of them, for sure we are going to miss them so much, each one with their own personality. They were amazing companions for all of our days. In more than this, the communication and the briefing with Janette was very good and clear. She made us feel welcome since the first contact we had. The farm is located in a place that you have the best of Turkey: sun, beach, local and nice street markets, good public transportation and friendly people. We are grateful to had lived this experience and recommend it for everyone that loves animals and nature :)
Kathleen is a gem of a person. I am lucky to have her as my first house sit through this portal. She is kind and very considerate of others. Kathleen is very racially and socially aware and doing her part to make a better world. She went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She took me around town and treated me as her family. When she got to know that I am of Sri Lankan ancestry Kathleen took me to a Sri Lankan restaurent in San Miguel. She had bought some groceries for me and also stoked on condiments and so on.She along with her partner made a comprehensive guide to assist me during my stay. Kathleen lives in a lovely neighborhood surrounded by lovely neighbors. I fell in love with the house and what Kathleen has been able to create with that space. Her pet Chaquita is a sweetheart I miss her already. Very easy to look after and loves to go for walks. Chaquita loves to sniff and take her time when she gets to go out. Chaquita is healthy for her age and loves to be cuddled and loves rubs. Chaquita has a longterm house sitter Suzzi and she is very lovely as well. For me this experience has been like being surrounded by love, perfect in every aspect. I highly recommend this house sit to anyone who is interested.
Jazz is such a great puppy and very playful. Had a wonderful time taking care of him during Gabriela & Hayden's time away.
Katelyn and Eric were terrific hosts, very kind and communicative. My partner and I had a lovely time in their beautiful home with Sierra and Sterling -- we miss them already! Both are mellow, sweet pets. Giving Sterling his insulin shots was a breeze thanks to Katelyn and Eric's thoughtful instructions. Loved our stay in this fabulous city and would love to return one day.
Pickles welcomed me warmly at the door, was very trusting from the start and slept next to and on me when I was in the living room or bedroom. We really enjoyed our time together. Pickles has a few toys and loves to run after a feather or a ribbon when you move it, both in the apartment and in the small garden. Communication with Meabh was straightforward from the start and she provided me with everything I needed to know about both Pickles and the apartment/garden. The area is very quiet, but has everything you need close by. Various bus lines take you to all corners of London or to the nearest subway or train. I would love to come back to spend time with Pi.
