Wow, this was a real Christmas sit, including a beautiful tree! Carrie and her family are very nice and friendly people who live in a wonderful, comfortable and extremely tidy house. They adore their kitties and so I´ve sent pictures and messages regularly to make them sure Nala (who still suffered a bit from a leg surgery) and Cody were fine. Carrie is very well organized and she sent me a lot of informations in advance to make it easier for me to adjust to the home and the kitties routine. That in fact was very relaxed upon the second evening. Before they watched out timidly and made me feel just a bit guilty about the absence of their usual admirers. Then I was well tolerated, accepted and granted company on the sofa and cuddles which I happily replied. They are very lovely and calm furries and for sure great to sit in any time of the year though for me they´ll remain my "christmas cats". ;-))) Still wondering about the faith Carrie had leaving a stranger with these kitties and this house. Thanks again and I am happy if we´ll meet for another sit.
Every day on God's good earth is a blessing, but sometimes unexpectedly and undeservedly He blesses you in a the most superfluous way. My wife, Lauren, was invited to officiate the NCAA Division II track and field championships in Pueblo, Colorado. Other than the Denver airport, I had never spent time in Colorado. So, officially I could check my Colorado box on my mission to visit all 48 of the lower states, but I felt I was cheating on this one. Plus, who wouldn't want to experience all that Colorado has to offer? As such, we decided to search for a housesit near Pueblo during that same time frame. Luckily or providentially, we applied to sit for Jack at Carlos and Desira's home in Colorado Spring. We could not have been more fortunate. Carlos and Desira made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. We came the day before and went over Jack's schedule and routines and even did a walk with him. Their home is convenient to all that the area has to offer, and Jack was well behaved in our absence. Jack is such an awesome dog. He follows commands and walks politely, never pulling away. He is a larger dog, but this never presented a challenge. We also loved the way he cocked his head to one side when you talk to him like he's trying to understand what you are saying. The guest accommodations were amazing. The entire basement was converted into a separate living space and would put some Airbnb's to shame. It was so comfortable and quiet. We never heard the fireworks that kept Carlos and Desira up at night. Finally, we cannot thank Carlos and Desira enough for making this such a great sit. Their generosity, warmth and kindness make us want to find a reason to return to the area. We felt like we were just getting to know them when it was time to sadly depart. We hope and pray God blesses them as much as they blessed us. Thank you again!
We had a great stay at Michael and Lesley’s home in Portland. Their home is beautifully appointed and meticulously maintained. It is located in a great neighborhood for walking and biking - only a few minutes’ walk to a Whole Foods grocery store and a Starbucks! Another 15-minute walk brings you to the Alberta shopping district with many boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Little Catniss is a very sweet cat who naps a lot and likes to hang around people who can provide a warm lap and gentle petting hand! She’s an older cat who requires attentive care but she puts up with her meds without holding a grudge! The weather was wet and stormy during our visit but it didn’t matter because their home provided a comfortable cocoon to relax – I spent hours reading in the bright solarium room while my husband streamed away on the large TV in their comfortable entertainment room! The weather was too cold during our visit but, we can imagine that it would have been lovely to spend time in their small south-facing backyard. Michael and Lesley are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make sure that we would have a comfortable stay. They provided detailed notes and we’re easy to reach if we had any questions. It was a pleasure to sit at Simonette and Lee’s lovely home, the animals where easy to mind and we enjoyed having time with them. We where made very welcome and felt very comfortable and appreciated.
I had an absolutely wonderful time with Pepper, she is such a loving, gentle, energetic and playful dog! She knows exactly where to take you on her walks and loves cuddling up with you on the couch when she wants her downtime. My favorite part was when she would zoom through her doggy door and come running into the kitchen at full speed after lounging outside! She is a very easy dog to spend time with and I would happily return to see her again! Gideon was very welcoming and has a beautiful home, with a convenient location to the beach and plenty of restaurants nearby.
We absolutely loved our time in Langley with Franklin and his ?. He is an adorable cat with a very sweet disposition. Langley is a fabulous town and the area is full of great hikes and restaurants. Ellie and Haley made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. A great trip! We look forward to visiting again in December with the whole gang! Our best! E & J

I sent an email regarding dog sitting for our honeymoon for two weeks and also popping to look after our cats with home visits which I received a reply a day later to say yes she was free for them dates which was brilliant so I sent an email back saying to book us in and I would pop through with the deposit and never got any reply! So I gave her a ring and nobody answered so I left a voice mail saying I had sent an email and to give me a ring back please. . . And never heard anything back so I rang the next day and no answer I tried once more the day after and nothing again! I give up! I know people live busy lives but how some people manage to run a business is beyond me.
Louise is so good with my Japanese akita willow.,Always able to fit her in for my weekends away. These 2 start screaming as soon as they realise where we are going. They cannot get in the field quick enough. Got to say they absolutely love having the freedom to run a riot.
Just picked my two fur babies up after another wonderful stay for them both. I have been using Rob Royd Boarding Kennels & Cattery for 6 years now and I can honestly say I wouldn’t go anywhere else for this service. My dogs are always so excited when they arrive and eager to get into their unit for their stay. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly and honest. They have shown to me their years of knowledge in this business and have always gone above and beyond to meet the needs of my dogs and settle any concerns I may have or bring to them. The site it clean and tidy and very well laid out with indoor heated units and now outdoor heated units. All bedding, toys and food are included in your pets stay along with endless cuddles and plenty of good walks and the odd treat. The site is set in a lovely area and is very secure. For my dogs it’s a home from home experience. They never not want to go into their unit and that to me speaks volumes. You can keep track of your pets stay by following the endless posts on FB too which is reassurance for you if your anxious. To end this is a family run business with only love, care and attention to detail very much present in everything the staff do and provide. Our dogs came from kennels at Sheffield Greyhound Trust over 5 years ago and have not been in kennels since. Based on the 5 star reviews of the business on Google and reviews and photographs on their Facebook page they seemed the ideal place to keep our dogs safe for a week so I contacted them to book. They were very nice and friendly on the phone and by text so I felt quite confident. I asked to visit the kennels with the dogs a couple of weeks prior to our holiday but was told they weren't accepting visitors but I was given a time of 11am on a Friday to come but I was working so couldn't make it. When we arrived the afternoon before our holiday we were met by Dawn. She was very nice and friendly but rather than take our dogs into an indoor heated kennel we were taken to an area with outdoor kennels, no heating, open to the elements and a small dark area behind a wall to sleep. We were too shocked to say anything and it felt too late in the day to try and find somewhere else for them so we left and I cried all the way home and into the next day. I don't know why they advertise the lovely indoor facilities they do as when we returned to collect the dogs the other outdoor kennels were full of dogs too, maybe it's the cats and small fluffy dogs that get the inside kennels. We expected our dogs to be a bit shut down when we picked them up but they were dirty, smelly and both had visibly lost weight. Our boy looked like he'd starved all week he was so thin and weak. Our girl had damaged the end of her tail, this has never happened before. The dogs had been on concrete floors and had split nails and one had a sore on his foot. My heart broke when I saw them. I just wanted to get them home so didn't really express my concerns to Julie as I was far too upset. I appreciate that Dawn and Julie seem to be nice people, however, I am not happy with the accommodation and can't believe the reviews have never mentioned the awful concrete cells the dogs are kept in. I will never leave my pets in kennels again and I recommend owners go and visit kennels and not rely on misleading photos on Facebook.
Our cats love to go to their home away from home! Dawn and Julie show genuine love and affection to our fur babies! We had the difficult conversation decision to make on whether we cancel our holiday after one of them had major surgery, but we needn't have worried! We left vet and NOK details and Dawn organised their home so there was no jumping! And we had regular messages, videos and photos to reassure us! They're the best! Our boys Boris and Barney, the boisterous beagles have gone to Rob Royd since they were puppies. They are happy and healthy and well looked after by Julie and Dawn. They know when they pass Wigfield Farm that they are going on their holidays and get so excited! The kennels are very helpful in getting booked in for our short breaks. We wouldn't want to leave them anywhere else.
Lexie is a 15 year old ‘princess’ that has been going to Robroyd for 6 years, whenever we’ve been on holiday, often for extended periods. I have no hesitation in recommending Robroyd. The care given is professional and diligent, but more importantly loving. Each animal is treated as an individual and if there is a health problem they contact the owner straight away. Dawn and Julie are always ready to ‘go the extra mile’ and we’ve always been delighted with their care.
First time staying here for my boy Louie and he’s loved it!! He came home happy, smiling and clean, you can really tell he’s been looked after, not like the last kennels we left him in. I got updates from the owners and I felt really comfortable leaving Louie in their safe hands. Louie is a rescue and can sometimes be nervous around new people and places but when I collected him you could tell he had really enjoyed his time here and loved the people, Louie will be definitely staying again!! Came for a meet and greet and was instantly put off by the way we was treated by the staff. They didnt seem to have any interest in my dog what so ever or wanting to board him and said maybe i should build a kennel in my back garden for him and some one to come look after him at my home . Kept saying that there was something wrong with my dogs paws his pads were swollen..he has red sores in them and needed to be looked at. Had him to the vets to which he replied where was they looking as his paws are fine with no concerns no sores or swollen pads.
I left my dog at Rob Royd for the second time several weeks ago. Leaving your dog in kennels is not the ideal scenario for anyone, however needs must, and I trusted the positive reviews which I had seen online to book with Rob Royd. I previously had a good experience using them and chose to return to use their services. On this occasion, however, I am disgusted with the treatment my dog received and also with the events following us collecting him from the kennels. On picking up our dog, he smelt significantly of urine. On examination, returning home, he was covered under his tail/back legs in dried faeces which were not even able to be removed following one thorough bath at home. He is a doodle breed and his own faeces were ingrained into his fur and matted in; it was evident that it had been present for at least several days and not cleaned/noticed by staff. On noticing this, I was very upset and contacted Rob Royd kennels for an explanation. I was greeted with a hostile attitude and was essentially accused of lying by staff member Julie. I was fobbed off for several weeks with excuses and was informed that, should I leave a negative review online, the kennels would simply reply with video footage showing a lack of faeces in my dog’s fur. I’m not sure how a CCTV camera would possibly show clear enough footage to evidently display dried faeces under the tail of a dark brown dog, however I apparently had no argument here. I was eventually told (after chasing this matter 3 times) that I would not be offered any refund by the kennels and I was encouraged, both verbally and via text, to leave them a negative review online. I am outraged by the treatment and follow-up from Rob Royd when my dog returned home in such a state. I will also be liaising with Barnsley Council with regards to this matter. Do not use these kennels under any circumstances, not only due to the primary issue raised, but also due to their terrible customer service should you be dissatisfied with their service.
Megan kindly was able to accommodate looking after our beloved Mathew at short notice so we could go away for a few days. We are new to the Denby Dale area and found Megan from multiple positive reviews. Megan came to visit us before we went away. Discussed Mathew's needs and routines. We felt very safe in her hands. She came to see Mathew twice a day and sent photos and an update on how he was doing. The house was tidy when we returned. She had changed his litter tray and disposed of his litter waste and he had fresh water and some biscuits. Mathew was happy on our return and clearly had been cared for. We would highly recommend Megan and her services and will be using her again the next time we go away . Thanks Megan 😊

We use Megan for walking Eric our dog and feeding the Claz the cat when we are working. We also use her for sitting the pets while we go away. I wouldnt trust many people with our fur children but Megan is extremely caring and experienced in her profession. I recommend her without hesitation.

My Rhodesian ridgeback back Rodger has stayed with Wednesday a few times and he’s already booked in for my next two holiday.He is always happy to see Wednesday and loves his busy days playing and being with the other dogs ,his days are filled with fun and always plenty of love and cuddles which he likes are always a bonus to him and us . Even when he had his poorly episode recently Wednesday gave him all the attention he needed and had plenty of sleepless nights. The updates from her are great puts my mind at rest as he is a proper pampered big boy .Rodger can’t wait to see Wednesday and viva in July again ,he will have met his match with viva as she’s grown since last time.
Wednesday is great with our labrador. He came back happy and worn out. Communication is very good, she sent us lots of updates and pictures. We're really glad to have found someone so caring and reliable for Leo.

Our Labrador puppy Spike was around 4 months old when he started his Good Citizen Puppy Classes and the whole process has been so worthwhile. There is a clear and succinct structure to each lesson and from the outset it is an easy to see that Jo has a clear passion for dog training. It has been a brilliant 8 weeks where Spike and I have learnt an array of strategies that helps reinforce good behaviour when we are not in a class environment. Well worth the time and money (Spike can’t wait to go to each class) we will 100% continue classes here!
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last 8 weeks on the Puppy training. Jo is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and mixes the class with info and training! I ended with my daughter who ended up completing the final assessment with our pup! Jo was incredibly kind to her and our pup! Thanks Jo and we’ll be back!
Absolutely fantastic! Would recommend any training and boarding to anyone!! My labs training is ongoing and has been for the last 2 years as continuous development. I see results everytime! Linda (boarding team) is brilliant with the dogs, I left my lab Betty with no worries at all and Linda kept me updated throughout. I have 0 faults with Outward Hound, their services for training and boarding are fantastic! I’ll definitely let Betty stay again! She’s still recharging her batteries from all their walks lol Linda (dog boarding) is a great asset to your Outward Hound team!
We have just finished an 8 week Kennel Club Puppy Foundation course with our Shiba Inu and we have all loved it. Shiba Inu's can be difficult to train, but Jo was extremely knowledgeable and had tips and tricks to help us get the best out of our puppy. We will definitely be going back for more classes once summer is over and would recommend Outward-Hound Pet Services to anyone.
Booked our puppy on the 8 week foundation course and could not believe the change in him over these 8 weeks. We had great fun with Jo and both learned great training skills making it easy for the whole family to be involved with training our adorable but difficult puppy. Jo knowledge and patience where different breeds are concerned is great and we are already booked in the next course. I could not recommend Jo more even if I tried.
We met Jo for our first 1 to 1 session. Toby was reactive at first and Jo gave him space and gradually gained his confidence with treats. Jo asked lots of questions and assessed us and Toby. We have learnt so much in our first session and have taken away confidence that we can improve and Toby will learn better confidence and behaviour. Jo is amazing. We have alot to work with and have booked our next session. Toby was wanting to lick Jo before the end of the session. There was an amazing difference. We would definately recommend. Looking forward to our next session next week.

Jo and her team are simply amazing. Glanford and I have been attending weekly training classes for the past 6 years; she manages to make the training fun for both dog and handler and offers different solutions when things just aren’t clicking (usually for me, not Glanford!). We’ve also had 1-2-1 training when Glannie went through a difficult phase of lurching at anyone who walked towards her - Jo soon gave me the tools and understanding to refocus Glannie and the behaviour soon stopped. The dog walking team are simply the best - I have complete confidence in them and Glannie loves each and every one of them - even though she may not always be willing to get off the sofa! Overall a great Team.
Excellent service! Puppy training/socialising classes are super helpful and conducted in a safe manor! Everything can be paid with PayPal online ensuring buyer protection and extra reassurance. Puppy got some small treats upon his social class and got some new friends. Couldn’t ask for any better training for my furry friend! EDIT: After having used her service both one to one and many different classes, including help with separation anxiety I can confirm she’s still one of the best dog trainers in Yorkshire! She’s done a brilliant job helping us work with Chewie, who have a lower concentration level than most dogs and her one to one classes are already making improvements to Chewie’s behaviour.
We have attended lots of Joanne’s training sessions, these have been group indoor and outdoor and now they are online. Joanne is brilliant at adapting the targeted activity to the skill level of each dog in the groups. Our dog has benefited from these classes as we have become better dog owners. It’s also great to meet other people and their dogs for socialisation and support.
Fantastic doggy day/night care, our little minature Dachshund, Fudge loved it at Fluffy Woofers. Very professional from the get go and Nicola showed me her paperwork and welcomed me & Fudge into her home. Very friendly, caring & loving environment and family too. Fudge settled in straight away, made some new doggy friends and Nicola communicated with us daily by text and photos of Fudge on walks, playing and cuddling with her new friends. It was brilliant, highly recommend! ❤️

Frances is brilliant with all of my animals, not just taking care of my dog Flynn. I recommend her highly to anyone who loves and cares for their dog but has to work long hours. Frances has been there for me when I've needed her to care for my cat and guineapig too. I don't know how we'd cope without her.

Cannot recommend higher. Gemma has taken excellent care of our little Yorkie Mabel. My wife and I got updates as to how Mabel had been, and Gemma made sure to check in with us to make sure we would be back in time so Mabel wouldn't be on her own for too long, really appreciate that. Over the night that Gemma had Mabel, we were completely free to enjoy our time knowing Mabel was in safe hands 😊. When we've got home, Mabel is so excited to see us, but is very settled and has clearly had a great time. Thank you Gemma...we will see you again soon so Mabel can attack you with kisses more 🤣😊
Gemma looked after my 2 dogs when my existing dog Walker wasn't available for a week. She came to meet them initially and took note of all their foibles (There are many big) I have strong dogs and both reactive. She was confident with them which is what they need. Gemma sent updates each time she walked them, and this really put my mind at ease. Gemma understands that dogs are family. Thank you Gemma

Our puppy regularly goes for day care at Paws for Thought, Nathalie and Neil provide her with so much love and care and we receive regular updates which is wonderful. Our pup also gets to socialise with the other dogs which has really helped her confidence. We haven’t used their overnight dog boarding service yet but we wouldn’t hesitate to book her in. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants their dog to have a true home from home whilst they are away!
Willow my 1 year old loves her days at Paws... She bounds in ready for time with Nathalie, Neil and her friends! They have taught her so much and nothing is an inconvenience. I would recommend them to anyone. We have recently rescued a 2nd Scottie who hasn't had the best start and they are working so well with Rhea. I love that I can see videos and pictures of them having the best time. Thank you guys, where would I be without you!
We've been sending bella to Nat and Neil for a few years now. If it wasn't for them, bella wouldn't have overcome her inherent fear of dogs. They've nurtured, loved and played with her and made her the dog she is now. I would never send her anywhere else as they are just perfect! She has boarded and has regular day care. I always recommend them as I know the service they offer is second to none
Our Scoobs has had a fabulous time staying with his Mumma and Pappa Paws. These guys are so blooming lovely and take him into their home and love and care for him like one of their own. I don't worry about him whilst away as I know he is very well looked after and a pampered pooch whilst staying with Paws. They even, from listening to me talk about Scobbs issues, took the time to work with Scoobs on his hate of cats and I was happy and amazed to see him sharing the sofa with Tigger the cat something I would've said was impossible but not for these guys bless them & I recommend their services whole heartedly to anyone who has fur babies that require boarding, doggy day care or doggy socialising x
I took Pasha my Pomeranian to Doggy Day Care slightly worried about Covid but I needn’t have as Nathalie & Neil we’re professional and prepared for his arrival with regards to social distancing to wiping Pasha down with antibacterial wipes even his collar. Then again before he left them to go home.They are so loving towards the doggies in there care and made me feel completely relaxed knowing Pasha was safe in there hands I wouldn’t take him anywhere else but Paws for thought. Absolutely fantastic people, very welcoming! After our first visit it felt like we had known them a lifetime! 100% feel comfortable leaving my puppy Dexter here, he loves to go! Cannot recommend enough.
Ted has had a few visits at Paws for thoughts now and he loves it. Always comes home tired after playing with his new doggy friends. I always feel reassured that he is being left in loving, caring hands

Kay was brilliant with our car Carlos. We had a new last minute changes and needed Carlos checked in twice a day and she was happily able to make it work. Kay really put out mind at ease while we were away and got lovely videos and pictures. Would definitely recommend and will use her again when we go away. Very friendly, professional and reliable.

Barnsley Pet Services is absolutely fantastic and we couldn’t be without Kay’s services for our Spaniel pup. We love the updates about our little one and she looks after Zeus as if he was her own. We appreciate her kindness, compassion, knowledge and flexibility. Zeus has been with Kay since 11 weeks old and he loves his visits. He has started his 30 minute walks with Kay and he loves every minute!
Kay has walked my lab Meg once per day from being 14 weeks old (she's now 18 months) Meg loves her morning walk! Kay is consistent, reliable, professional and has genuine love and care for all the pets she looks after. Very highly recommended.

She came round and spent time with her putting her at ease before her services would begin and she sends me regular updates about how Molly is throughout the day. Fantastic service. Couldn't have found a nicer person to look after my huskies and Patterdale terrier whilst at work. I've never left them with anyone else to look after and Kay has put me and my girlfriend at so much ease. Would recommend to anyone. Get daily updates on how they're doing. Highly recommend :)
I came across Little Paws by accident and I’m so glad I did. I needed someone to take care of my fur baby for a week while I went abroad. I didn’t want to put him in a kennel. Little Paws was the perfect place. My little man was well taken care of and was treated like one of the family. He loved his holiday and he’s already booked in for more holidays this year. He now goes two mornings a week. He loves it when we pull up to the house. I can’t thank them enough for putting my mind at ease and taking such great care of Bear. The perfect place to look after your furry friends, would definitely recommend 🐾🐶🐾🐶
Walter has been to this wonderful little establishment on a few occasions now. Because he is such a quiet and shy little dog (a bit of an odd bod), we were worried abut leaving him with anyone, but there was no need to be concerned as Cheryl and Cerys quickly put our minds at ease. Walter seems happy to go to Cerys when i drop him off, in fact today it sounded like he did not want to come home🙈. So happy that I can leave him in professional hands where the individual dogs needs come first. A great big THANK YOU ladies.
