Abby and Ryan were so welcoming and friendly. We had the chance to meet with them at their home two weeks before our housesit started. They walked us through their home and taking care of Toaster and their fish Pepper. Abby provided a great welcome guide here on Trusted Housesitters that we were able to reference throughout our housesit. We loved this location – there are some great shops (maybe my favorite book store ever) and a park nearby. Toaster is very calm, cuddly, and friendly, and even though she was a bit timid around us for the first few days, she really warmed up to us. This was our first housesit taking care of a fish, and feeding Pepper was no problem. Ryan and Abby were very accommodating and made us feel comfortable and welcome. We would definitely recommend this housesit.
Mary and Chris are the epitome of graciousness!! Entrusting me with their beautiful kitties and home!! And Newton Ferrers is the perfect spot for anyone who loves sailing, hiking, artistic endeavours and a gracious community of folks! Oh, mustn’t forget the pubs!! Plymouth is close by offering a broader more diverse community to draw from. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and would suggest that should there be an opportunity to sit in this lovely home ….. take it!! Thank you so much Mary and Chris for everything! Karen
Sarah an Kevin are very welcoming and considerate hosts. Sarah picked me up from the station and I was invited to share a very tasty evening meal with them.Their house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and a short walk through the park to the city of Bath . As for Cocoa? She is so gorgeous looking She is a " top model" of a cat . She has a very sweet and loving nature and would come to my bed in the morning for a 'talk and a cuddle" with a lot of purring thrown in. She also was a great help with my puzzle!! caring for her was very easy. I highly recommend this sit and thank again Sarah and Kevin for their generosity and thoughtfulness.
We had a delightful time in Orlando with Molly! She is so special and loves to play and sleep! We arrived at the house a day early and Robert pick up at the airport (thank you again!) after that we had a great time with Robert and Kathy during the day exploring the neighborhood, meting the neighbors and we had a delicious lasagna meal that Kathy made for us! It was delicious! They are very special people and it was a pleasure to meet them! The house is a historical house, very comfortable, with a nice backyard where we spent a nice time playing with Molly. The location is wonderful, right in downtown, plenty of restaurants and a short walk from Eola Lake. We have been during the spring, so we had the chance to see many baby birds around. This is a treasure in the middle of the city. Lake Eola is a great place to walk around, on Sundays there is a nice farmer’s market around the lake. Molly is a dog with your own time, so when she is sleeping you should leave her, when she wants to play it’s THE time! She is very easy to take care, but she needs attention, she will not eat if you are not around, after she drinks litters of water you should pick her for some seconds to avoid some vomit and you should encourage her to get out of the house. She is not a big fan to walk around the block, but she loves to play with your ball in the backyard. They also left the car for us to use around Orlando and it was very kind of them. The car is very useful and how is a electric car we didn’t pay any gas. So we had a great time exploring the area! We had a pleasant stay and we really recommended to pet sit for Molly.
What a fantastic housesit! Jim and Kate were both very welcoming and their dogs Moose and Murphy were a real pleasure to look after. Moose has lots of energy and loves to play fetching the ball in their large back garden or fetching sticks whilst on walks. Murphy is a bit more chilled and loves a cuddle and to be really close to you. In terms of the cats, we only saw Sooty once and didn’t see Patches at all but they were definitely around as they kept clearing their food plate each day! We stopped in very comfortable guest accommodation which is separate from the main house, but we had access to the house and mainly used the kitchen and lounge areas. The area is so picturesque with stunning walks with amazing views straight from the door which made dog walking very easy. There are some beautiful beaches within a 15/20 minute drive like Studland Bay and Worbarrow Bay. Apart from the very occasional vehicle which drove past the country lane next to the house (probably one or two an hour!) this stay offered pure tranquility and you could only really hear the sounds of nature. A very enjoyable stay and would love to return in the future. Thanks Jim & Kate :)
Frank and Sookey are super sweet and cuddly dogs. They quickly accepted us into their “pack” and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Frank is such a gentle soul and is excited to meet other dogs and people. We would try ease him into encounters so that others wouldn’t be intimidated by his sheer size and exuberance. Sookey was mostly indifferent to other humans and dogs. She was way more interested in chasing her tennis balls. They have a set routine from the time they greet you in the morning with tail wags and licking, snuggles, breakfast, more snuggles. walks, more snuggles, dinner, extra snuggles, bedtime. We had a lovely evening socializing and getting to know the dogs’ routine. We enjoyed our stay in Squamish, with ample time to explore and check out the local food scene. Rebecca and Joe have made a cozy home with everything you’d need for a comfortable stay; all services and shops are a short drive away. We would happily care for Frank and Sookey again.
