We came home to a spotless house and healthy dogs. The garden had also been cared for. Cecilia and Brad were great keeping us informed about our dogs. We would be very happy to have them house sit again
Rand and Rebecca are wonderful hosts. House was very clean and comfortable. Pal is a cuddlier once he warms up to you. Muffin likes to play with her ball. Both cats were wonderful to look after. I would love to come take care of Pal and Muffin again.
Angela and Peter were most gracious hosts. I was welcomed into their beautiful home with a delicious lunch, followed by a detailed tour of the house and garden. Their lovely housekeeper was on hand to provide any advice and guidance, when needed, and her local knowledge a great help. Communication with Angela before, during and after the sit was excellent. She even kept in touch via email, while abroad, to enquire after my wellbeing - so characteristic of her kind and caring nature. The handsome Bluey was a credit to his breed. Though a fairly independent soul, I will always cherish memories of him settling on my lap in the evenings and watching TV together. His internal clock was accurate to the minute and he was totally confused when we lost an hour at the end of British Summer Time. He couldn’t understand why supper wasn’t served at 4pm, which was really 5pm to him, and so we compromised on 4:30pm! I would highly recommend this sit to anyone fortunate enough to be invited by Angela.
Melita is a fantastic host. Melita provides clear communication and has a very helpful Welcome Guide. Her cats are adorable. Marble and Nessie both have great temperaments, and Nessie loves to play! She greeted us when we arrived, and she hung out with us lots and lots.
This was a very nice sit in many ways. Neil was very easy to deal with and had put together a comprehensive Welcome Guide covering everything you would need to know. The two cats Jess and Safi soon settled and Jess spent much of the day and evening sleeping on the couch in the TV room and waking up from time to time for some head rubs. Safi followed me around alot and when not doing that was off exploring. Both very nice cats. The house was comfortable and warm and the bedroom at the back of the house looked out on gardens looking very nice in Autumn colour. A comfortable bed is high on the list for a sitter and in 80 sits, this bed was as comfortable as any! The house is in a quiet street equal distance from Palmers Green and Southgate and both have all the shops you would expect to find on a High Street. If any sitters reading this are keen on Guiness you won't go far wrong by visiting the Irish pub The Wishing Well opposite Palmers Green station; they pour some of the best Guiness I have had....and I have had a few (but thats another story!) and the bar staff are very friendly. There is another half decent pub at the top of Fox Lane on The Bourne called The Woodman and they have an outside seating area so its a good spot to shrug off the worries of covid especially after a nice walk around the lake and through the woodland on the right as you head down The Bourne towards Southgate. There is a bus service running along Fox Lane into Southgate but to be honest its and easy walk there and you could easily get the bus back to the house if you were loaded down with shopping. All in all a nice sit close to London with a very easy train run into Moorgate putting you in easy reach of Saint Pauls Cathedral, the Barbican Centre and Museum, the River Thames and the West End.
Rachel has written an informative Welcome Guide which she also printed out for easy reference during my stay. Frodsham is a quaint village with some original Tudor buildings and a small ancient woodland nearby called Hob Hey Wood which is pleasant to walk in. Frodsham is only two train stops from Chester which is well worth a day trip, and it is also easy to get to Manchester and Liverpool by train. I had been looking forward to spending time with three cats during this sit and I was not disappointed. They all spend time outside and especially Lucy has no fear of wet weather. I am used to cats entering the bathroom but she also joined me in the shower! Lilly loves to bring in twigs and various bits of paper or plastic which she carries like prized trophes. Bella spends much of the day sleeping and it was very nice to have her sleeping on or near the bed with me.
Warm and cozy home with awesome pets! Winnie and Gus will snuggle with you all day, Gus will sit on your face to show his love but who doesn’t want that!! Lupa which is super well trained wouldn’t stop playing fetch with you if she could. Overall an amazing experience with Katie and family providing outstanding hospitality, don’t have to ask me twice to do it again!
