We had the best time house sitting Ruby and Norman! They are such uncomplicated, loving dogs and it is an absolute pleasure to be around them. We had the best time snuggling up on the couch with them, throwing the ball for Ruby and going for long walks! Rosie and Nick made us feel so welcomed when we arrived. They showed us around the house and the neighbourhood, shared the best coffee spots and prepared a welcome gift. Our room was really beautifully decorated, as was the whole house. The communication before and during the housesit was easy. We feel very lucky to have spent the last few days at Rosie’s and Nick’s beautiful home and would return in a heartbeat to spend more time with Ruby and Norman!
I really enjoyed my sit with Thelma and Murdo. They were very easy to care for and were not at all demanding. We got to know each other a bit over a short stay and Thelma especially was clearly warming to me. They love to cuddle together on the couch and used their cat flap regularly to come and go. Louise and Louise's home is very comfortable and spacious and felt really at home there. They both made me feel very welcomed and I'd recommend this sit without hesitation.
We looked after Marjory & Neil's three beautiful cats awhile back (Joshua has now been replaced with Finn). The cats were lovely and would sit in the catio and watch the world (& neighbors) go by. Being Norwegian Forest cats they do shed a lot, but with the cordless vacuum stick it was easy to give it a quick once over regularly. Kirkintilloch is a very nice town that we were able to walk and/or cycle to (we did both). The house is comfortable and on a nice day you can enjoy the patio, while the cats are in the catio :-) One thing to keep in mind is that the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs, so if you need to get up in the middle of the night, like we do, you'll have to navigate the stairs. It wasn't a problem for us, but just something to be aware of. The hosts are wonderful and we would definitely recommend this sit to anyone who loves cats.
We enjoyed staying at Estefania’s place and caring for Berne and Lucy very much. Estefania is a great host, very relaxed and very nice. The house offers all the comforts one basically needs, offers a nice big garden and the surroundings are beautiful. We used our bikes for some touring, we walked through the wine yards, and did an amazing hike to the nearby volcano top, the Montaña Blanca. Beaches are 15 (car)minutes away. Berne is a very gentle and sweet old dog. In his mind he is still young and energetic, and where his body sometimes fails him, he doesn’t seem to care. He is very willing to obey and was quickly to adjust to us as the new ‘bosses’. Lucy is the uncrowned king of the property. He comes in and goes as he likes, but when he is in, he is ‘all in’, asking for a lot of cuddles, which we were happy to give. Thank you, Estafania, for giving us the opportunity to get to know you and your pets, and we are sure we will stay in touch!
Nic was kind and accommodating. Had all the things you need for a long stay (I was there for ~10 days). He provided clear instructions and was available if I ever had any questions. The cats were all sweet and easy to take care of. Kitto (6 months) was extra cute and cuddly. Great stay! Thanks Nic!

Stacey started walking our pup from 12 weeks. She was so good at coming in for puppy play time when she was too small to walk. Now she takes her out for long walks , and with other dog friends too. Our pooch loves Stacey. We also love her! She is super good at communication and bookings, always accommodating. She really cares about our training style and has helped us with all the puppy stages from teething to recall enforcing. We have a highly active working breed and Stacey handles her very well.
I've been relying on Stacey for years, and she's fantastic. When our dog was a pup she would take him for short walks and spend the rest of the time playing with him. He's now nearly 3 year's old and goes for an hour walk with Stacey every few days. She's introduced him to new dog friends and he is always excited to see her. She's very accommodating and is great at communicating and responding. I feel very confident that Stacey is always alert to the dog's well-being and I'm so glad we found her!

Fantastic dog walking service. Our dog Lola absolutely loved Jo and the walks they went on. Jo walked Lola every day for two weeks whilst we were away. Very reliable and caring of Lola. Lola is a strong dog. Jo kept us updated with lovely pictures which was wonderful. Strongly recommend Jo.
I have an older husky X and younger rescue dog who Jo walks twice a week for me. She is responsible and reliable and they get very get excited when she comes to collect them. She took the time to get to know their personalities and makes sure if they are walked with others that they will all get along. Would definitely recommend her !
First time using a kennels and got to say couldn't be happier. my dog went in with no issues got updates and photos of him while he was there honestly no issues collection went with out any issues. amazing place and amazing staff :)
A really good kennel experience for our dog. We have a German Shepherd who is always well looked after and has no fear of staying. We have used the kennels twice now and would highly recommend it. She received individual care when she got over excited due to being surrounded by other dogs.
I cannot commend Jo enough. She is wonderful person and takes such care of all the dogs under her charge. I am deeply saddened to hear that Five Acres will be no more. Our entire family wish Jo the very best of luck and we hope that she and the team find somewhere else to continue doing what they care about so much.
Due to unforeseen circumstances my dog had to go to Five acres twice in 4 weeks. I thought he would resist going up to the kennels on the second occasion but he trotted up very happily. Each time we collected him he was happy and in good condition. The kennels coped with giving him his daily medication and keeping him on his restricted diet, which he happily ate whilst staying there. The kennels are also kept very clean, no smells when we have visited.
Our cat feels comfortable and calm here with it's relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Great service that is flexible and caring, they spend plenty of time with your pet too, giving them lots of attention. Would highly recommend. P.s. They also send pictures of your pet too, if you want
The team at Five Acres are superb! We dropped off our two little ones for a 13 day stay and they were treated very well! Jo and her team are clear animal lovers and provided excellent service to us and our dogs! We would be happy to use them again next time we go on holiday. The only downside is that they were a little inflexible with drop off and pick up times, but only a minor problem. Still 5 STARS!
I have used Five acres for 10years + and i wouldn't send my dogs anywhere else. They treat your pets like their own, lots of love, treats and a kick about with a football! Its like a holiday for my dogs and they come home happy.

Our dog has been going to Basil's for 2 years now and she absolutely loves it! We wanted to make sure she was in a comfortable and loving home environment as she can be nervous, and Basil's ticked all the boxes. Natalia cares for each dog as if they were her own and our furbaby is always super excited to get to daycare in the morning, and suitably worn out in the evening!
Mylo goes to Natalia for his holidays when we go on ours. The minute the door is opened he is through it!. We have used Basil’s boarding services quite a few times now and love the regular updates and pictures we get. Natalia understands each dog has its different needs and ensures their time at her house is as comfortable and stress free as possible. If they want the couch, they can have the couch. 🐾 I cannot recommend her enough and am never worried about leaving my ‘third child’, just maybe a little guilty……🐾
Natalia and Basil are great! Our dog attended weekly daycare for two and a half years, and he loved it. Early drop off and late pick up hours made the schedule really easy with working hours. Natalia works hard to ensure dogs are a good fit together and adapts to the needs of individual dogs. The small group and home environment means every dogs gets special attention.
Fantastic care for my nervous dog! I highly recommend Basil’s Doggie Daycare to anyone looking for daycare and boarding- I use both of these services. Natalia is so knowledgeable and excellent with dogs, I know my dog will always receive the best care with her. She has so much fun and gets lots of attention. Last year my dog spent over a week boarding here while I was away, she came home happy and relaxed. I received daily updates, photos and videos of all the fun and had no concerns or worries at all. I have a booked a further boarding stay.

Fantastic experience of day and overnight home boarding care for our lively sprocker spaniel ‘Woody’. Woody has stayed with Natalia and Basil every year for the last 5 years (except during Covid) for our annual 2 week holiday and has also stayed numerous weeks, weekends or odd days. He is always very well looked after, well-walked and Natalia even cooked dog biscuits for him during his stay on his Birthday. Really appreciate all the personal photos and videos Natalia sends during his stay with reassurance that he is having a great stay! Highly recommend
Our doggie stayed for a few nights and when we picked her up she did not want to come home she was so happy. Very well looked after. Will be using basils again in the future for over night stays and weekly walks

We could not recommend Vicky and Paul enough, there is no one else we would trust to look after our Italian Greyhound. Vicky treats our iggy with the same love, care and attention we would at home. Her support, advice and help has been greatly appreciated. Looking after our dog from a very excited puppy to a now much calmer (albeit particular!) 4 year old! They’ve always been there for us when we needed them and gone above and beyond for our dog who we miss terribly when she isn’t with us, but we know she is safe and in a home away from home with a good routine.

I have used The Ark Home & Pet Care a couple of times now and I have been so pleased with the level of care my two cats received while I was away. Each day I looked forward to the photos and message I was sent - very reassuring that all was ok back home! Adam even watered the plants, took in the post and feed the garden birds. Nothing is too much trouble. Zoe was great at replying to any emails I sent. Both are very friendly and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs top quality pet care while away!
We were really pleased to have The Ark Pet and Home Care look after our home and cat whilst we went away for the week. Perfect service, could not ask for more- even last minute requests such as watering the Brussels sprouts were attended to. It was a relief to know that our home and moggy were in safe hands whilst we were away, and meant that we could enjoy our break away all the more. Will definitely use again and will recommend to my friends and neighbours.
What a service! We always have worried about leaving our many pets, 4 cats and 4 Guinea Pigs, with people we don’t know. But we found this company run by a local couple. Worry no more. They came round and took some detailed notes, getting to know the quirks of the animals and which is which. They even sent us pictures of the animals and updates on which cats they saw etc. We even had 2 guinea pigs in isolation from the others, this wasn’t an issue at all. Well done and thank you. Not just from us, but from our small zoo too.

Bright Days/Andy is a passionate dog walker , he takes my dog once a week and she runs out to greet him with a wagging tail and big lick , Andy makes sure she has a great walk as the dogs are well matched with other dogs on the walk. She does get muddy, but it’s worth it, because she loves it so much! I get pics/videos and the dogs have plenty of exercise in the countryside! My cockapoo always comes home tired and happy! Andy is equipped with treats, balls, and first aid to deal with any situation and he has even delivered homemade dog biscuits at Christmas which was a lovely surprise.
Andy has been walking my two dogs, 5 days a week for a couple of years now, he is very reliable and my dogs love him. I am confident my dogs are safe with Andy as well as getting a good walk at a variety of locations. I have a mud lover, Andy always hoses him down and dries him off with a towel I leave out. I would highly recommend Bright Days dog care.
Andy has a calm, caring personality and loves dogs. Our dog, who is selective in who she bonds with, absolutely adores Andy and his family.

My dog Lulu can be a bit tricky and with my wedding coming up, my usual carers won't be available. So I turned to Home From Home Dog Boarding to start building a connection with a capable carer. We were introduced to Monika and Alessandro who turned out to be more than perfect. They have great experience with bigger and stronger dogs. Lulu had a great weekend and I didn't worry once whilst I was away for the weekend. They sent great updates and took Lulu out for day trips and were so accommodating when plans changed and I needed to pick her up later than planned. She had a great time and is already booked in for more holidays and I can know that I can focus on my wedding next year and not worry about Lulu enjoying herself as well!

Ive used Home from Home dog boarding for years now and can honestly say they are the best. The usual carer they went to wasn’t available so they stayed with Natalie and her husband H. Such a lovely couple, who adore dogs and have lots of experience. I got daily updates and went away knowing they’re being looked after. If anything happens to one of them there’s 24 hour support from Home from Home. Staff in the office are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

Our cavachon, Teddy, is always so happy staying with Ilona (and her husband, Ian). She is very knowledgeable, full of kindness and common sense and offers the added bonus of a great sense of fun. Ilona has been very accommodating whenever Teddy has stayed with her. He settles in quickly, which is comforting, as we know he's happy and that allows us a worry-free break. We greatly appreciate the photos of Teddy (often with very amusing comments) that we receive regularly when we are away.

We’ve used Take The Lead ever since Fozzy was 6 months old - initially for puppy training, then daycare and occasionally dog boarding overnight. The team are lovely and great people and Fozzy runs to meet them when they pick him up - we always know he’s in great hands! Highly recommended.

Can't recommend Take The Lead highly enough - means so much to us how they care for our dog like one of their own - he always has a fantastic time at daycare, we have all been helped with behaviour consultations/one to one training, he loves going to daycare and has even been pampered at the Stylish Dog and comes back looking fabulous and smells divine. We have a great time on the social walks and love the specialist excellently run 'lets be nosey' scent courses. So so glad we have found this amazing company.
The Take The Lead Services team are seen as an extention to the family by our spaniel, he loves them all! We have used TTL since 2014, and struggled to find a service as good when we moved to California. In fact when we moved back the first thing we did was check our dog could go back to Take The Lead! Great friendly service we would be lost without them for those occasions when we both need to be away at the same time for work. Highly recommend Karina, Matt, Catherine and the team!
I cannot recommend these guys enough. We started out with puppy classes almost 2 years ago and now our Frenchie Taco goes on group dog walks a few times a week and boards with Take the Lead when we are away. He absolutely loves it and I know I can trust Karina, Matt and their team completely to take the best care of him which is really important to me. Nothing is too much hassle, they are always so accomodating. Really glad I found them!
Excellent company, have been using Take The Lead Services for many years now! All the staff that have collected my dog over the years have always been prompt & polite, make sure he has water when they drop him off, and ensure he's dry if it's a wet day. Completely trustworthy.
Took my 5 and half month old puppy to be groomed to have my puppy returned bleeding heavily from her paw. Nail cut far too low. Wasn’t apologised too or made aware of the incident when picking up my dog. Will never return
Can't recommend enough! Murphy loves his day care days! (And overnight stays, and walks!) He's always worn out from all the fun! Karina, Catherine and everyone are amazing and I am so grateful to them!
Helen at Walks & Whiskers is wonderful, we are so grateful to have found her a few years ago, our dog loves her walks every day! Helen is so caring and we feel totally comfortable that our dog will be well looked after whilst out with her.
Helen from Walks & Whiskers has been fantastic in helping look after Bryn, our small but determined Border Terrier. We regularly use walking services and have found Walks & Whiskers to be very flexible when it comes to our working arrangements which change on a weekly basis. We receive frequent updates on how Bryn's walks with his canine friends have gone, and are happy knowing he's out of the house to enjoy himself when we can't be there.
