Rafi looked after Billie and Arie during the Summer Long weekend and he is a very nice and friendly guy, he is super organised and arrived early before I left to ensure all information were passed on before I left. During the trip he sent me an update just as I asked him to do it less frequently. He was very self sufficient and reliable. I came home to two very very calm dogs and therefore I will definitely contact him again for my next trips!
Hevelyn is a young woman. She was great at sending photos and videos of my dogs. This was critical as she and the previous housesitter were both feeding my dogs TWICE AS MUCH FOOD AS NORMAL, and I could see from her videos that they were bloated, lethargic and just picking at their food. My 50-pound 11-year-old spaniel gained four pounds in a month, and my 16-pound two-year-old Jack Russell Terrior also gained four pounds! My other 12-year-old spaniel with Cushings Disease LOST four pounds! She is thinner than she ever has been in her adult life. Hevelyn was not a tidy woman at all. She left before I returned, and left me with two sinks of dirty dishes, a dishwasher loaded full of clean dishes, dog hair and dirt everywhere on the floor and horizontal surfaces, DIRTY SHEETS (EW!), lots of debris outside (right next to the blower) and floors that made my cleaning pads black with filth. It was obvious she hadn't even wiped down the kitchen counters or bathroom, and there was clutter everywhere. I spent about 12 hours cleaning after this housesitter so far! On top of this, I found some VERY LARGE MEN"S CLOTHING UNDER MY BED (DOUBLE EW!) I don't know what the policies are for strange male overnight visitors, but I can tell you it feels creepy knowing a stranger was in my bed. Only days after Hevelyn departed, she suddenly showed up outside of my gate and called me, saying in an ominous tone, "I am waiting for you." She said she wanted to talk to me. I am all in with open communication, but it first requires a time and place that both agree to. She seemed to assume that I didn't want to talk to her, when in fact I was 45 minutes away and in the middle of some overdue errands. I told Hevelyn, "Let's make a meeting time and place," but I haven't heard from her again. I cannot in good conscience recommend Hevelyn Careli as your housesitter until she attains quite a bit more maturity. I cannot with good conscience recommend Hevelyn Careli because of her lack of cleanliness and lack of boundaries with strangers in my bed.
