From day one, Clare was inviting and hospitable. We knew we were in good hands! We arrived the day before to meet Orla and get to know her routine. Clare welcomed us into her beautiful home with open arms. She gave us a tour of the village, showed us Orla’s favorite walking routes, and explained her routine and how everything in their home worked. We did have a “Welcome Guide” printed out in case we needed it. We spent 12 days with the cuddle queen! We took her on LONG walks, which she thrived on (awesome walking guides provided by Clare!) and enjoyed a giggle when she decided to have zoomies mid-walk, haha! We had a "ready-made" hot water bottle/couch cuddle buddy as it pretty much rained the whole time we were there (England weather, hey!). We absolutely loved playing tug of war with her; she is really good at it, so start doing some arm workouts. My favorite part was waking her up in the morning because she instantly made you feel loved with her morning cuddles and kisses! Clare had kindly arranged for us to drop Orla off at her dog walker the night before they arrived home, so we could get home as we work during the week and had to make sure it didn't overlap with our schedule. We would highly recommend sitting Orla, but be aware, she’s a terrier, so there will never be a dull moment, haha! Alma was a delight to look after, friendly and lovely walking on the lead. A great temperament and affectionate. The house was great, all amenities - 15 minutes from the center of Mumbles. Lots of lovely walks (sometimes in the dry)!
We really loved staying at Julien and Ariane’s place in such an amazing location! They had us round for dinner so we could meet Pixel and it was a pleasure getting to know them. Pixel is an adorable cat with so much character - very playful and cuddly. We’d go back in a heartbeat!
Kerry was such a pleasure to talk with not only did I receive a comprehensive written manual but I also got videos. Her family also embraced having me as their house-sitter and I had such a wonderful time looking after Pebble, Zulu and Honey. Claremont is a beautiful place to walk the dogs and the neighbours are so friendly. Absolutely would love to housesit again.
This was a fantastic sit! Julie was very kind and welcoming and Luisa was sooo easy and sweet to sit with. Once Julie and I ‘met’ over FaceTime she chose me as Luisa’s next sitter! I then received a detailed description of what my responsibilities were. I read these over prior to the sit and familiarized myself with Julie’s neighborhood and amenities. I felt safe and was even provided the name and contact information for one of Julie’s local friends in case of any issues. Once I arrived we went to a local Biergarten and Julie brought Luisa along. She was an easy companion to accompany us out to dinner. When Julie left for her work travel, Luisa and I settled into an easy routine. I guess you can call me a bit of a digital nomad and Julie had a dedicated home office set up and the wifi was high speed 5G. Luisa hung out while I worked until the end of day and it was a great stress buster to have a few snuggles in the middle of the workday! After work hours, I took advantage of heading out for a few hours and she was fine alone. Upon my return (not more than 3-4 hours) she was there with a wagging tail to greet me. Of course, by the end of the sit she was sooo happy to have Julie back home! I can only recommend Julie and Luisa as a wonderful host/companion and hope that I have the chance to ‘sit’ for them in Munich again!
Rennie is a very sweet puppy! He needs patience and reassurance on walks, but is well-behaved for his age! I enjoyed our time together. This area of the Mission is one of my favorites next to Heath and Tartine!
