This was our 13th house sit, and the fact it was only for one night yet has turned out to be of the best we have done speaks volumes! Three things made the experience for us: The hospitality of Mike and Michelle. They were so welcoming, clear and kind in all aspects of the sit. From a super clear and comprehensive welcome guide, to leaving some food and drinks for us, to a very detailed tour of the house and all of its parts - they really are wonderful and went above and beyond. The house. My goodness, what a great place they have. It is extremely spacious, modern and has absolutely everything you need to be comfortable and happy. The sound system, the TV, the super comfortable bed with en-suite, the amazingly well-equipped kitchen, the roof terrace, it was all perfect. We planned to go and explore the area a little but actually didn't leave the house and had a wonderful time. The cats. They are the two of the sweetest cats we have met, and we instantly fell in love. They were very friendly and loved a cuddle. Getting on in their years a little, it was sweet of them to let us carry them around to their food / bed and to treat them like the kings they are, despite barely knowing us! They made the whole experience even better. It is clear we thoroughly recommend this house sit and if you're thinking of applying you should do so instantly! Wendy, Paul and their family were very hospitable and made us feel like old friends from the start of our journey for this sit, which was their first excursion into the services of Trusted Housesitters. Their furry family were a dream to look after too, Jess is an adorable and very loving spaniel we are already missing her as we loved being greeted by her with her fast wagging tail and always with the right persons footwear in her mouth waiting for you to take it!!! (Magic moments and never a mark left). The four cats Holly, Milly, Ozzie and Finley were easy to get on with and all had great individual personalities, I took it as a challenge to get Ozzie to relax with us as he was the most nervous. After 10 days he allowed me to stroke him for 30 minutes without taking off, job done were my thoughts. Their home is beautiful, and has all the facilities that you would need, it is close to the outskirts of Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, NEC and Birmingham Airport, but tranquil as set in exceptional countryside out of the noises of the City. We would readily sit for Wendy and Paul again and recommend this sit to anyone else considering to do it. Thank you both for allowing us to help you, best wishes Paul and Jan
It was wonderful to care for Percy and Betty. They are very calm, sweet, and fluffy, and great with cuddles! Catherine and Rich were so gracious, even giving me a lift and flowers at the end of the sit. Their flat is in a fantastic neighbourhood and is full of charm, with fun objects and art books, amazing high ceilings, and a view of the sea. It’s also close to the incredible yoga studio Luna Wave on the beach, which I really enjoyed. I will remember my time there very fondly and would definitely recommend it!
Staying at Kay's home and taking care of her cat was a real pleasure. Roscoe is a sweet, attention seeking (quite vocal but not in an annoying way) and cuddly cat. It was very nice having him around after a day of wandering the city. He needs special attention because of his health condition but this is totally manageable if you are a rigorous person. Kay provided us with a thorough welcome guide with all the instructions we needed. The apartment was very tidy and clean and well located, which made it easy for us to be at home on time for the insulin shots and Roscoe's meal time. Kay was very reactive when we had questions and concerned that our stay was going well. Other than that, she invited us to an event with her friends on the first day and it was very nice to be able to spend a little time together before she left ! Would definitely recommend this stay :)
I truly love these 3 dogs! At 15, Missy and Bj are doing great! BJ loved to snuggle up to us on the couch and bury himself in the blankets. Missy would wander around the kitchen looking for any tidbits that might have dropped on the floor. I would pick her up and just sit with her at the counter. Ollie is a big bundle of love and kisses, and so sweet. We would let the dogs out often to potty and would help Missy up and down the stairs. All 3 are great eaters! They loved their treats and their blueberries. We would welcome another chance to care for BJ, Missy and Ollie!
Susie and I connected previously and stayed in touch via text and the app. She prepared for me to have a successful house/pet in her home. The home is clean & well organized and Susie left space for me to unpack my belongings. The house is located close to anything you might need (supermarket, stores, Starbucks, etc) and a short distance to visiting beautiful Lake Tahoe. Wally is a sweet elder pup is well loved and enjoys sleeping by the fire or on one of his many beds around the house. He loves having his ears & chin rubbed and will make the sweetest sound. Wally wears a belly band at all times to prevent accidents in the house and Susie has a system for washing & trading out the three belly bands so she is always prepared for him. There were still some poop accidents in the house but I was prepared for this ahead of time by Susie and it was mostly an easy & quick clean up. Bitsy is a sweet & inquisitive cat that is easy to care for. Pets, treats and cleaning out her litter box… Everything else is taken care of. Thank you for a great time in Reno.
