How fortunate are we to have met Jen and Tony and to have been introduced to the delightful nuances of the staffy personality! We’ve now had several opportunities to care for the gorgeous Saffi and her effervescent greetings and loving personality are the hallmark of this experience. Jen and Tony are excellent communicators who provide clear instructions for Saffi’s care and routines. Each time we receive a heartfelt welcome into their stunning, very comfortable and secure home. As thoughtful and generous hosts, they ensure we have all the support needed to look after their precious girl and property. Dog walking options in the area abound and shopping precincts, parks and dog friendly cafes are all within easy reach. While we arrived as dog sitters, we have now become dear friends and look forward to our friendship continuing. We can hardly wait for our next adventure with Saffi! Thank you Jen and Tony.
While Hana and family were away attending a family wedding we were able to enjoy a few days in the splendid village of Crowthorne in a neighborhood which was more like a setting from the TV series - ‘Desperate Housewives’. We explored it on walks with their three dogs- Robbie, Johnny and Miska. They were wary when we first met but once they got to know us better they grew more friendly and keen to be with us in the large, comfortable family home with a large, shady garden and patio/ conservatory area. Guido very kindly collected us from Camberley, gave us a tour of their surroundings, Hana had prepared notes of necessary information and made us welcome. We enjoyed plenty of walks with Johnny and Miska (Robbie sometimes preferring to stay home) and Wendy was able to shop in the High Street- a 15 minute walk away. People in Crowthorne are friendly and helpful and gave us directions to find local scenic spots .

Watching after Jennifer's cat was a great experience. Jennifer couldn't have been more helpful and left meticulous instructions, making everything simple. And spending a few weeks in such a comfortable, well-appointed place made the time even more enjoyable. As for Unicorn, she was such an affectionate cat and a joy to look after. Overall, I had a great time and would highly recommend housesitting for Unicorn.
My review and time of sitting coincided with a very unfortunate moment in Mela´s life and the fact that this was also her first time using Trusted House Sitters must be taken into consideration. I was and continue to be very understanding given the circumstances. Mela is a warm welcoming person. Sadly I didn't actually get to meet her in person before or after the sit, but this is what was transmitted to me during our many video calls. The majority of the basic sit and house care instructions were covered during a video call but from my now over 5 years experience on this platform, I find it's always much better to have a written guide to refer to and feel sure she will be correcting for future sits. This might be an opportunity for the platform to better inform new owners how to better set up making the experience for the sitters also outstanding as we try to make it for the owner. The dogs are lovely, playful, follow firm instructions on the whole and a joy to be with. However there are times when Hatchi and Busta would really go at each other producing worrying, somewhat disturbing scenarios. They are better kept apart outside of Hathi pen area even though it did seem ok for the first few days with them all out together and even though Busta and Mandella will continually enter Hitachi area at times. Given that they are only fed once per day and do not need to be walked this did make for an easier dog sit although the dog walking is the part the sit experience that personally do enjoy but this was not a problem on this sit. Pipi and Mandella loved being picked up and cuddled and Mandela in particular was somewhat protective which was very endearing towards the end. . The location of the house is great if you need to be away from it all but one really does need to have their own transport to be able to get out from here and reach to areas as you cannot count on a reliable or frequent public bus services, I waited for over 1.5 hours at times for a bus that did not come and on more than one occasion For digital nomads/work at home freelancers like myself this could be a good base as the the internet in the main house was stable however do be aware the JRa the parrot can often be quite loud and vocal so depending on the type of work that may be an issue for telephone/ video calls at times. I think she likes to remind you that she’s there and also needs attention. Carly the cat is just the most adorable cat ever that appreciates strokes, cuddles and lots of company including at night if you will allow her into the bedroom. There were a couple of issues with maintenance of the home for example the mosquito nets could do with some repair and/or a much better stronger mosquito repellent system in place as the bites and night were plentiful. The pool was out of action at the time of my being here but was not a problem for me personally. There were a few visits from a carpenters and pool man so I believe reactivation of pool is in hand but i was a little concerning the lack of light in the outdoor area especially near the pool side when entering or leaving that could have been serious but I also understand is being taken on board and will be remedied Overall I do wish to thank Mela again for this opportunity to get to stay 2 great weeks in Barbados which also helped me with other things above all else for allowing my sister now living there and fellow Trusted House Sitter to share this sit with me and offering her mother's independent accommodation for her to stay in and continue after I had left a few more days until her return We were able get some quality time together and I got other things I needed to do done whilst on the island and that was really appreciated. I look forward to meeting you Mela when I return and hoping this will be soon . Thank you
This was a very nice and peaceful housesit in a safe and quiet neighborhood with parks, restaurants and stores nearby. Oakley is a sweet dog and I enjoyed our walks on the trails and playing fetch in the beautiful backyard. Chelsea was very easy to communicate with and made sure I had everything I needed for the housesit. Thank you for the lovely stay!
