Fig is a very affectionate Velcro dog. If you don’t have experience with breeds like this you may find it overwhelming - Fig will follow you everywhere, including to the toilet! Fig is very vocal about her likes and dislikes (likes include chasing squirrels or cats from the garden, dislikes include not being in your company 😄) She is very good at having her halti lead put on, and walks very well with it, without complaint. On lead or off, she doesn’t pay too much attention to other dogs, unless off lead and they are playful. Fig’s home is in a lovely area with two very good enclosed parks she can run around in, close by. I felt very welcome and comfortable in the house, it was nice to spend time there. Communication with Fig’s pet parents was very good with quick responses to any questions. A top tip from them that I didn’t think of myself, is to use a lead if going into the garden very early or late. The garden is enclosed but Fig likes to scare away the neighbour’s cats! I felt bad if it was a disturbance and the lead prevents this. At night it’s also good to keep her calm before bed. I was grateful to have my own dog stay with us too. Fig was happy to have my dog in the house and wasn’t territorial. Thanks Fig and family for a memorable stay in Edinburgh!
David and Karen are kind and generous hosts. They truly wanted me to enjoy my stay and sit and I did! This was one of the best sits I’ve had through THS. Their easy-going and adorable girl, Katie was a joy to be with. Katie enjoys walking and so do I so we got out in the beautiful weather and surroundings as often as possible. And when I was working remotely or watching tv, she just would lay there close to me in chill mode. I love St Augustine and have been there many times but their location is really the best of the best. Their condo was relaxing with all the needed appliances and amenities and more like a 5-star resort. The neighbors are friendly and all knew Katie and the community have everything I could possibly need. If I’m available, I would love the opportunity to sit with Katie again. I really miss her. I definitely recommend this sit!
Rocky is the funniest little guy! I absolutely adore him and had such a fun time staying with him. He’s got great character, loves a little snuggle, is super sweet and enjoys his playtime. He’s perfect on walks and is really easy to take care of. I love his expressive nature and the way he makes a game of things. I can’t wait to stay with him again sometime soon and enjoy his company. Hana is so warm and friendly, really welcoming and her home is absolutely lovely. A great stay all round!
Our family found Lucy to be the most enjoyable small dog we've ever met. She's sweet, fun, and playful and not overly yippy. She was welcoming of our dogs and easy to get along with. She likes to play in the yard, go on walks, snuggle up, and occasionally hide under the sofa. Super good-natured. Jenny and Scott were equally wonderful and easy to work with. They were quick to respond to any questions we had and always grateful for our regular updates. The house is beautiful, modern, comfortable, and they have a great backyard for dogs. The little swimming tank was fairly green, but I was still grateful to dip my legs in when it was super hot outside. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook meals for ourselves and there was even room in the grocery in the refrigerator to place our groceries. Super wonderful set! Highly recommend!
What an amazing experience! Conny and Jon have a beautiful log cabin in a tranquil setting and the three dogs were sweet with their distinct personalities. Zuri is always ready for a hike and is full of life. Kali is older and sweet, and once in awhile has a burst of energy and will start to romp. She’s usually up for a short stroll. Luna is a sweet cuddle pup who wakes up with her tail wagging and is always cheerful. This was our first experience with chickens and it was fun to get to know that chickens have personalities too! We had a lot of laughs. There are trails on the property where you can walk the dogs, and Jon and Conny were kind enough to offer their snowshoes and cross country skis for additional fun. They are very generous, thoughtful people and left some food for our first few days on the sit and were very quick to respond with answers to questions. The king size bed is very comfortable and you can gaze out at the stars as you drift off to sleep. Don’t hesitate to apply to this job! We hope to be back!
This was truly an awesome sit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with lovely Theo in Vanessa's and Andy's beautiful home. Theo was a pure pleasure to look after and a great companion on our daily adventures on the nearby beach. We feel lucky to be chosen as sitters by Vanessa and Andy and we found them to be most welcoming and generous hosts. We would certainly love to come back soon.
